I don't come across many medieval manuscripts in SW Colorado, but I still get inspired whenever I get to see them in some of the documentaries I watch. The delicate lines, combined with bold infill really bring to life the stories that monks spent their lifetimes creating.

Each Drop Spindle is hand made from laser cutting my designs onto the front and back of 1/4" thick poplar wood, shaping the hardwood dowels, and shaping the hook.

The spindles are sanded numerous times, and coated in a wax conditioner. They are not finished or sealed as I prefer just waxing them, however after a thorough wash you could seal them with your preferred method!

I use Howards Feed-N-Wax to give the wood a warm tone and shine. This product can easily be found in many hardware stores.
