This little critter packs a big punch with personality! Cheesy I know, but let me explain why.
This rat is made from hand dyed, handspun nylon (faux cashmere). I then knit, and brush the daylights out of the yarn to make it fuzzy. After a quick haircut They get their little details. The nose and tail is made from mercerized cotton, their whiskers are hand dyed and spun merino, and the little eyes are seed beads.
This little one hit all my historical needs, so hope your ready for their backstory. Knitting using a belt, and super long dpns is a very traditional style to knit Shetland lace. The yarn used is my own handspun 2ply Shetland one that is base don the rocky mountain junipers I have in my yard. The little lace pattern does have some of the berries too! The lace pattern itself was out of a traditional Shetland lace book, and is based on trees! The little knitting belt is a tiny leather one with a strap, and two needles made from wire, which also was traditional!
These little guys are made from at least 90% hand dyed, and handspun yarn which is why they truly are one of a kind!
Each critter comes with a tiny wooden and wire stand so they are easy to keep standing, and if your rat gets unkempt, you can easily brush them back to normal.

*While this is a cute soft critter, it is really not a toy! They are one of a kind with tiny bits, so maybe not a great gift for the littlest of humans.

This is a wonderful pattern so please give them some love!
